Badge attainment can be accomplished based on the following matrix. Explorers are required to complete different areas in each badge. Example: The Sports badge – there are many types of sports; at least four (4) types of sports must be done to complete the Sports badge. 

Discovery , Exploration, Participation, Reflection, and Sharing.

Pre-K and K participants are welcome; however, they must be paired with an older participant. Participation is focused on providing the Pre-K participant exposure to the topic. Exposure will provide the Pre-K and K an opportunity to learn about something new and an idea of what they will focus on when they are of age to become a full participant. To achieve badge completion, a Pre-K and K participant must partner with an older participant to complete one (1) of the requirements in Discovery, Exploration, Participation, Reflection, and Sharing. 

Elementary participants are expected to complete all of the Discovery requirements and a minimum of one (1) of the requirements in Exploration, Participation, Reflection, and Sharing. If an elementary participant wants to complete more than the minimum badge requirement, they must complete the minimum requirement of at least five (5) other badges before completing additional requirements.

Middle School participants are expected to complete all of the Discovery and Participation requirements, a minimum of two (2) of the requirements in Exploration and Reflection, and one (1) of the requirements in Sharing. If a middle school participant wants to complete more than the minimum badge requirement of any badge, they must complete the minimum requirement of at least ten (10) other badges before completing additional requirements.

High School participants are expected to complete all of the Discovery, Exploration, Participation, Reflection, and Sharing requirements of any badge they want to complete.
